Privacy Policy

DISCLAIMER: PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION ACT, ACT 4 OF 2013(POPIA) DISCLAIMER

  1. TDT Properties respects the right of the customer to privacy and therefore aims to ensure that TDT Properties complies with the legal requirements amplified in the the POPI Act, which regulates how TDT Properties collects, processes, stores, shares, and destroys any personal information which the employee has provided to TDT Properties. TDT Properties shall take all reasonable measures to protect the personal information of users and for this disclaimer “personal information” shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act, Act 2 of 2000(“PAIA”) and the protection of Personal Information Act, Act 4 of 2013 (“POPI”)
  • TDT Properties will collect personal information to liaise with the customer telephonically, or via the TDT Properties website or email, or any other method which may deem fit at the time to enable TDT Properties to:
  1. Respond to any query or comment received from the customer;
  2. Inform the customer of new offers that may arise;
  3. Enable TDT Properties to process, validate and verify information and requests for the supply of goods and/or services:
  4. For the purposes for which the customer specifically provided the information; and
  5. Generally, to improve the experience of the customer
  6. For any other purpose TDT Properties may deem fit with the prior written approval of the customer.

c)        TDT Properties will share the personal information of the customer, only:

i.      To comply with applicable law or with legal process served on TDT

ii.     To protect and defend the rights or property of TDT Properties; and

iii.    For any purpose with the prior written approval of the customer.

d)        TDT Properties will:

  1. Treat the personal information of the customer as strictly confidential;
  2. Take appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure that the personal information of the customer is kept secure and is protected against unauthorised or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction or damage, alteration, disclosure or access;
  3. Promptly notify the customer if TDT Properties becomes aware of any unauthorised use, disclosure or processing of the personal information of the employee;
  4. Provide the customer with reasonable evidence of TDT Properties compliance with its obligations under this policy on reasonable request from the customer; and
  5. TDT Properties will not retain the personal information of the customer longer than the period for which it was originally required, unless TDT Properties is required by law to do so, or the customer consents to the retaining of such information for a longer period.

e)        ALTHOUGH TDT PROPERTIES WILL TAKE THE AFOREMENTIONED PRECAUTIONS IN PROTECTING OF THE PERSONAL INFORMATION OF THE EMPLOYEE, TDT Properties SHALL HOWEVER NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE, HOWSOEVER ARISING, SUFFERED AS A RESULT OF THE DISCLOSURE OF SUCH INFORMATION IF OUTSIDE USAASA REASONABLE CONTROL.

f)         The employee will have the right at any time to:

i.        Rectify the Personal Information collected by TDT Properties

ii.       Object to the processing of Personal Information (subject to legislation)

iii.       Request the return or destruction of Personal Information (subject to legislation);

iv.      Lodge a complaint with the Regulator in the event of the customer of the opinion that TDT Properties is in breach of the POPI Act.

g)        The Personal information of the customer processed by TDT Properties is not and will not be routed and/or/transferred to a third country and/or international organisation and/or any other third party subject to legislation and/or the written consent of the customer, if applicable h)         The PAIA and POPI Acts are available online at www.gov.za/documents/acts.
